Solar Gard Silver Window Film
Highly reflective film for maximum heat rejection and strong daytime privacy, made with sputtered precious metals for optical clarity.
- Up to 77%Solar energy rejected
- Up to 83%Fade reduction
- >99%UV blocked

What Is Silver?
Silver films are made by sputtering thin layers of metal onto the film. They reflect the sun’s heat instead of absorbing it, which gives some of the highest heat rejection in the Solar Gard range.
The mirrored look also gives strong daytime privacy. Silver 20 rejects 77% of solar energy, among the highest of any film we install.
It is a popular choice for commercial buildings, west-facing glass and spaces where heat is the main problem.

Which Silver Shade Is Right For You?
Silver 20
16% VLT and 77% heat rejection. The strongest heat and privacy option, with a full mirror look.
Silver 35
33% VLT and 65% heat rejection. Still strongly reflective, but brighter inside.
Silver 50
52% VLT and 51% heat rejection with 23% exterior reflectance.
Silver 70
67% VLT and 37% heat rejection. A light option with only 12% reflectance.

Silver vs TrueVue
Both reject a lot of heat. Silver is reflective on both sides, so at night you see your own reflection inside. TrueVue is dual-reflective: reflective outside but neutral inside, so it keeps a clearer view at night.
For homes, TrueVue is usually the better choice. For commercial glazing where heat rejection and cost matter most, Silver is hard to beat.

Silver FAQs
Will Silver film look like a mirror?
Silver 20 and 35 have a strong mirror look from outside (39% to 57% reflectance). Silver 50 and 70 are much more subtle.
Is it reflective on the inside too?
Yes. Silver 20 has 58% interior reflectance, so at night with lights on you will see a reflection. If that matters, look at TrueVue or Slate.
Can Silver go on any glass?
Highly reflective films raise the glass temperature, which can be a risk on some double glazed, tinted or large panes. We check your glass before recommending Silver.
Is Silver allowed on my building?
Some strata schemes and councils restrict reflective film. Check your by-laws, or ask us and we can suggest a less reflective option.
