Blackout Window Film Sydney
Opaque window film in black or white for complete privacy, day and night. Professionally installed on homes, offices and shopfronts across Sydney.

What Is Blackout Window Film?
Blackout film is a solid, opaque film applied to the inside of your glass. Unlike tinted or mirror film, nobody can see through it from either side, at any time of day or night.
It comes in two colours. Black blocks all visible light for a true blackout. White blocks the view but lets a soft glow of light through, for a clean, bright look.
Blackout film blocks your view out as well as the view in. If you want to keep a view, consider one way mirror film or frosted film instead.

Black or White Blackout Film
Black blackout film: 0% visible light. A true blackout for media rooms, home cinemas, bedrooms for shift workers, server rooms and storage areas. Also used to hide back-of-house areas behind shopfronts.
White blackout film: around 9% visible light, so the room stays softly lit while the view is fully blocked. Popular for bathrooms, office partitions, clinics, shop windows during fit-outs and as a clean background behind signage.

Is Blackout Film Safe For My Glass?
Black film absorbs a lot of the sun’s energy, which heats the glass. On sunny windows, large panes, double glazed units and some tinted or coated glass, this can raise the risk of thermal stress cracking.
We check your glass type, size and sun exposure before installing. Where black film is not suitable, white film or a different option is usually the answer.
Other Privacy Options
Not sure you need a full blackout? These films also give privacy while letting you keep light or a view.
- One way mirror window film to see out while the street sees a mirror during the day
- Frosted window film for day and night privacy with natural light
- Privacy window film to compare every privacy option
Blackout Film For Homes
Black film turns a spare room into a home cinema and helps shift workers sleep during the day. White film is a neat fix for bathroom, laundry and toilet windows that face a neighbour.
Both are a cleaner, longer lasting option than paper, paint or foil on the glass.

Frequently asked questions
Does blackout window film block all light?
Black blackout film blocks all visible light (0% visible light transmission). White blackout film blocks the view but lets about 9% of light through, so the room is softly lit.
Can people see through blackout film at night?
No. Unlike tinted or mirror film, blackout film is opaque, so it gives the same privacy day and night from both sides.
Should I choose black or white blackout film?
Choose black for media rooms, bedrooms and storage where you want no light at all. Choose white for bathrooms, office partitions and shopfronts where you want privacy but still want some natural light and a bright, clean look.
Can blackout film crack my windows?
Dark film absorbs heat, which can stress some glass, especially large sunny panes and double glazed units. We check your glass before installing and recommend white film or another option if black is not suitable.
Is blackout film removable?
Yes. It can be removed later with the right tools, and the glass underneath is not damaged.
