Does ceramic window film make windows dark?

All window tinting films make windows look a bit darker, but when choosing a window film, there are 2 things to consider: the VLT (visible light transmission) which tells us how dark the film is and how much light it blocks, and the clarity of the film after application to the window. Films manufactured with nano-ceramic technology usually have the highest clarity among all films, and the clarity factor is what actually makes them more expensive that other films. So if you apply Ceramic CX 50 window film to your windows, you will barely notice that you have any tints on.

Can I see through Ceramic CX film at night?

All window tinting films are designed for daytime privacy, so they block the view from the exterior during the day, but at night the process becomes inverted because the lighting on the inside is higher that exterior lights. But if we had to choose the best option to keep the best possible visibility to the exterior, then Solar Gard Ceramic CX series would be our best solution due to the clarity of the film.

There is no film that can completely block the passage of UV rays, but it can certainly filter the major part of it. All Solar Gard window tinting films including the Ceramic CX series will block UV rays by a percentage higher than 99% which is as close as you can get in scientific terms to completely blocking UV rays.

Will it affect my internet or phone signal?

Absolutely not. Solar Gard Ceramic CX window films are designed with high technology to make sure they do not block or interfere with any signal. Other window tinting films especially metal-based films can have a negative effect on phone or internet signals, or any radio frequency trying to go through, but ceramic is based on Carbon and has no effect whatsoever on air- transmitted communications.

How long does installation take?

Ceramic CX films are no different than any other window tinting films when it comes to installation. The duration of installations largely varies depending on the size and complexity of the project. On average, you have to allow around half an hour for each glass panel as installation time. Of course large glasses may take some extra time especially if they need some extra cleaning and preparation, and smaller glass panes might take less than 10 minutes to install.

Is Ceramic CX suitable for double-glazed windows?

To determine the answer of this question, we need to know what type of double-glazed window we are dealing with. If both glass sections are clear or toughened glass, then there will be no problem installing the Ceramic CX window films. However, the glass needs to be checked prior to any tint installation to make sure there is no Low-E coating on the glass. What Low-E coating does if combined with tint, it can trap the heat inside the Window which can cause thermal cracking. Usually an application chart is provided by all window film suppliers to tell tint installers about glass compatibility.
